Previous | Rant Archives | Next Damn the Hiatuses! It's probably weird for me to be sayig this instead of you all. At least, it deviates from the normal perception of what we expect. But the truth is, I'm really tired of having to have this comic on hiatus. (Seriously, do you know how many times the word hiatus has been in rant titles March-April?) I really love doing the comic, and I want to do it some more, but I just have to graduate. What's gonna happen is I'm going to update the comic once sometime this week as I said I would, and then...back on hiatus. *sigh* This hiatus will possibly/likely last until May 19th. Why maybe? Because this time, it all depends if I can finish off all my work. At this point, all I have to work on is projects. If I can finish them all up early (as I hope to) then updates will start up again earlier than May 19th. Oh though, this time around, Chibi comics will still be updating. My senior show runs all this week, so I won't have much free time at all, but I'll work on the comic in what free time I have to get it up. Forbidden Kingdom/Smart People Before I write my long tedious update on the comic, I thought I'd just spare a moment to say that Ninya and I absolutely loved The Forbidden Kingdom. It's style was really nicely done, and they did a good job of bleending all the elements of this complicated adventure. I say this, because with the whole premise, the movie could have been horribly cheesy. They did a great job with the directing though, and it's now one of my favorites. The last movie we saw before that was Smart People. That movie was one of the more uniquely styled I've seen. What it does, it does well. What felt lacking in the movie was the flow. There seemed to be very little in the way of actual climax. Ninya and I almost weren't expecting the credits when they came. It was like you were still sitting there feeling a little unfulfilled. So, good movie, just a little weird feeling. Creator's Saga, chapter 2 Welp, guess there won't be any Chibis until I get back, because something just occured to me...I didn't bring a scanner with us or anything. Which makes it just a little difficult. >< However, I finally got the program set up on here so that I could update things on the site, such as Ninya's rant. In the meantime, you all should read through the next part of JBB's Creator's Saga, starring Darkdays and Adyon.
Wedding et al. So, months and months later I’m here to update my rant. We got married!! The ceremony was beautiful and best of all…really short without all the extra religion fluff some weddings end up having where it doesn’t focus on the couple, but enough Faith to make everyone happy. To be really honest I don’t remember the day too much…It was really a blur of excitement and euphoria. The thing I most remember about the ceremony was this golden glow created by the spot lights and the look on Adyon’s face when I was walking to him (he cried). Preparing for the wedding took sooo long and was almost no fun at all but the dance and the reception were both awesome and very worth it. Actually, I still can’t believe it wasn’t just a dream I’m going to wake up from any minute and have all the stress come back to me. I keep looking at Adyon going “Oh my gawd, we’re married!” Just Married It's official as of today. Ninya and I have gotten married. It's taken a lot of preparation to get to this point, but in the end the results were worth it. I got choked up seeing Ninya. Everything went beautifully, and tomorrow we leave for our honeymoon in Pagosa Springs, CO and then to Santa Fe, NM. We'll be gone a week. Consequently, this is the start of my 2 week hiatus until the 21st of April. I'll try to update Chibis, but I won't be doing the main comic. I'll keep everyone updated after that, as I'm not sure what'll happen and how much time I'll need to finish up my stuff for semester's end. Concert and Hiatus Well, for my bachelor party this weekend, the highlight for me was an impromptu concert. We hadn't known about it til Saturday afternoon. But, none-the-less, we got to go watch Drowning Pool and Saliva in concert! It was friggin' awesome to say the least! I approve of Drowning Pool's new singer. I was a little worried, but he filled in perfectly, better than there 2nd singer did. He had such perfect stage presence and put on one of the better shows I've ever seen a group give. Saliva was excellent of course too, but there's not much to review, as they've still got their original singer. =P Still, both bands were amazing. Oh and I'm going to have to check out one of the other bands that performed...Since October was really good to for a new band who's 1st album is about to release. (Even though their singers' hand movements made me laugh) Violence to Vegas was a little too screamerish for me to add to my favorites, though they were pretty good at what they did. And now, let's talk hiatus. Well, if you haven't read...we're getting married this weekend. So, sorry. =P I can't say much else except that I'll pretty much be taking the time off. I do this comic for fun, not money, and that's all there is to it. I try to post Chibis and other things during all this, but I won't guarantee anything. Really that's gonna go for a lot of the rest of the semester. I may even take one last hiatus if I have to, as the comic just has to go to the back burner when it comes down to me graduating or not. I knew this was going to happen, and it's part of why I still haven't ever advertised for this site. (Which is why suprises me sometimes that I have so many readers from the $10 or so I originally spent advertising on a couple sites =P Thanks, I do love you guys!) Hopefully after I have less things taking my time up, I can put a lot more time into posting, 'cause I really do enjoy this comic. Just not enough to stress myself out when I have this much to do. ^^;; R.I.P - Rocky Rocky (from the comic) was actually given his name from his dog who he grew up with. That dog passed away on March 17th. (St. Patrick's Day this year) I named Rocky after him back in like the 8th-9th grade when I was first doing comics, and the name stuck. It felt fitting to do a tribute to him, seeing as he's the character's namesake and an amazing companion. Early Warning Good news, there's a new comic after a two week hiatus! (minus Chibis) Bad news...after either one or two more...I'll be on hiatus again for one or two weeks. >< Sorry folks, but this comic is just a hobby right now, and I'm going through probably my most important semester of my college career, getting finished and transitioned to grad school, not to mention getting married. The comic will be back completely to normal after this semester. But the next hiatus will indeed be for my wedding. Here's hoping for two updates before the hiatus...if not...my apologies in advance. Started a Flickr Account I opened a flickr account and uploaded some photos recently. Maybe it'll help ease the lull in updates. =P I haven't gotten just a lot up, but I've gotten the photos froma couple events up. They, *cough* may nearly all be of Ninya...What can I say? I like looking at photos of her better. (One would hope anyway xD) These two are from her senior pictures.

And finally, there's some pics she took as a favor for a local Photographer (Ellen's Photography) that she wanted so she could put in her studio. She knew Ninya was into fantasy and things like that, so she convinced Ninya to do the shoot. I love this one the best. <3
One More Week Yeah it's true. Sorry everyone, I wish I didn't have to do this. I hate having to do it myself. Unfortunately, the comic is having to go on the back burner for awhile. I love doing the comic, and I love getting it out for you all, but if I don't focus on the tons of things I have to get done for awhile I may fail and not graduate this semester, so... I do plan on posting a comic the NEXT Monday though. No exceptions there. Expected Hiatuses Well, it's as I said. I'm putting the comic on hiatus next week. I need some extra time. I may have to do this again a couple times over the next month, but I'm not sure. Chibis will be posted as usual though. What's causing the delay? Well, besides the numerous projects and assignments, in about one month Ninya and I will be getting married. That's why I may still have to take another break at some point, unless I can somehow get the comic done in advance of the honeymoon. But I'm just happy this comic finally got done. I got to redo about 3 hours of work when I hadn't saved and my puppy decided to step on/switch off the surge protector. >< |
