Puppy Pics

First off, I posted an "about me" type of meme journal on devArt that some may find interesting if they're bored.

I also started putting up some of the old pictures we had of our puppies on my Flickr account. I'll make my way up to the wedding and convention photos.

Oh, and also, a picture we re-touched for fun in an anime like style. Just goes to show, meeting an anime girl in real life would be pretty weird.

600 Dollars One Way or Another

Hey Guys it’s been forever, I know.  In recent news I got a job at Pizza Hut as a waitress! I only started two nights ago but so far I’ve made $60+ in tips! =) I’m so happy.  The people I work with are really great too, the cooks are hilarious. Last night Jesus (one of the cooks) accidentally got Alfredo sauce in our manager’s hair…and then had the audacity to ask her to take a shower with him. (She’s like 24 and he’s 17)  Maybe you had to be there, but it was a riot. It then in grew to a water fight in the back kitchen.  In case you’re wondering we had to clean anyways, and it was soapy water, so all ended well.

It turns out my dad clamed me on his taxes last year (just confirmed), and even though I filed independent, apparently they believed him over me, so no $600 for Ninya. =(    For our foreign readers, President Bush and the government decided to give everyone who filed independently on their taxes this year a $600 tax break bonus to "boost the economy". I actually really could have used that money right now, especially since some medical bills came in. =( But at least my dad is willing to cover the bills for the time I was supposedly dependent on him. *sigh* That man never ceases to amaze me...he’s completely unpredictable. Always Save Periodically

Seriously, this comic sucked. Too many details. Of course, the biggest problem I had was when I'd been working for about 8 hours without saving and we had some power trouble that shut off my computer. Gyah. Give me a break. I actually was so frazzled I didn't really feel like starting over for half a day. I was just looking at the blank page thinking, "DAAAMMMIT. That was just almost fully done!!"

Oh, and damn. I gotta finish up the Chibi arc. Sorry, the reason it's taken so long and (especially lately) has been lacking in updates. Honestly, I've just lost interest in it. This should have been a lot less "epic fightish" and a lot more random goofiness like the LotP comic. (Which will be updating again too btw now that Ninya's had time to color)

Giant Candles for My Birthday

Wee, birthday!

Ha, umm...well. We're sitting around waiting on news as about 6 or so miles north of our town a large fire (about 5 miles wide at least from what we've heard) is completely out of control heading right towards the town. (Winds are blowing at up to about 40 mph gusts) The town we live in is actually pretty small. We don't think we're in any danger, other than we might have to evacuate because of smoke, but you never know.

*edit* The winds finally calmed down, which allowed the fire departments time to to get control of the blaze, so everything's fine now.

Either way, I can say it's the biggest candles I've ever had for my birthday. It's actually 11:20 pm on June 11th right now, so my birthday doesn't technically start for 40 minutes, but I have a feeling it'll still be going. =P

Oh, and either way we'll be gone tomorrow to celebrate. Sorry I didn't have a Wednesday Chibi, though times like this I'm glad I have it written above that it updates "sometimes" on Wednesday. Maybe we can chalk this one up to a break for my birthday.

Well, off to check on the fire and help Ninya take pics for insurance purposes just in case. Pictures on the convention soon btw...

Back from A-Kon

Just a small update until I can get on here to type something more.

I'll have a decent summary of A-Kon with some photos of Ninya in her cosplay and such as well up soon. I've still gotta get all that on the computer though.

But for now I've gotta get back to work.

Off to A-Kon

We leave tomorrow for A-Kon. I'm not doing any sort of booth or anything, just going for the heck of it with some friends and Ninya. I'll probably eventually get around to having things available to hit the conventions myself, but for now...we'll call it reseach. =P

Monday's comic will probably have to be late, at least late Monday, since I won't get back until after midnight on Sunday, and I don't have the comic done yet to just post.

Summer Movie Kickoff

Been seeing quite a few movies lately. It's a nice change, having so many movies to look forward to. It seemed like there for awhile I just wasn't interested in much of anything coming out.

I can happily say I haven't been really let down on any movie yet. We started off with The Forbidden Kingdom, then Iron Man, Narnia, Speed Racer, and finally we just finished Indiana Jones yesterday.

The Forbidden Kingdom: We loved the style and light-heartedness and how well they made that type of story "not-cheesy".
Iron Man: I mean what can I say that hasn't been said. Pure awesome!
Narnia: Was really happy and impressed with the grandure of it, though "Prince Caspian's" accent didn't sit well with Ninya. =P
Speed Racer: I really enjoyed it. The style and color were great. The intentionally cheesy dialog was a bit odd and made me laugh, though the fact that it was intentionally stylized to be the way it was made it the good kind of funny and reminded me of how they did that in Sin City. We also loved how easy it was to keep up with the action despite how much was going on.
Indiana Jones: Wow, basically it was a really good adventure, even if at first the subject matter threw me. It seemed almost not to fit with the genre, but once I thought about the nature of the series, I felt it worked well. It had its flaws...the beginning was kinda awkward and rushed feeling for instance, but I did enjoy it. We thought Shia Lebouf did an excellent job. Could be better, but still fun.

Overall, while I'm not sure about the others and will have to give them a 2nd visit, Iron Man and The Forbidden Kingdom will be definate additions to my all time favorites list.

Mass Chibis Ahead!

There'll be another Chibi Monday. Sorry for the lack of regularity to the Chibis. I'm actually planning on posting really fast if I can. I kinda want to finish this little story off quickly...since it's almost Summer and we're still doing a Winter themed comic. >.>

I really should have story-boarded this thing out beforehand and figured out how long it would end up being.

We're Baaack!

It's true. I never thought it would end myself, but the hiatus, my college finals, and my graduating from college are all behind me!

I swear, that last week may have been the most lacking I've ever been in sleep. >.> Over about 6 days, I think I got around 15 hours of sleep. I'm just happy to have it behind me.

Now things shall hopefully get underway. I don't plan on any more hiatuses for a long while. I'm heading back to work on the comic and a few other things, but I'll do an update on that stuff later. For now I'll just say...we're back!

Final Burst

It's that time...when your muscles tense, your brain focuses, and all your thoughts are on finishing what you've started.

By tomorrow afternoon...I'll be done with finals.

Now I just have a couple final projects to finish up. I'll probably be up all night again. (I had to stay up all last night too...as well as Saturday night last weekend) The fact that I'll have only got about 15 hours of sleep Sat-Wed is crazy, but...it'll be okay. Because, tomorrow after I turn everything in, I can just sleep all afternoon until Thursday morning. =D

Future Characters/Antagonists

To help fill my hiatus, here's a preview of some major enemies to be seen soon.

First is the Olympus Organization, though I won't be releasing anything about how they relate to the story. First, we have Jupiter, leader of Olympus.

These are the Galileans, which are pretty much Jupiter's generals.

And last, we have Prime.

Improvement

Finally! The latest comic took me at least 16+ hours to complete! O_o I hope it was worth it. It took so long, one, because of the amount of referencing I had to do to make the outfits perfect. (I'm way too much of a perfectionest when it comes to non-original designs) Two, this comic was one of my attempts at moving the style/quality of the comic forward.

That's one thing I hope to do while on this hiatus is improve my art and its style. I hope future comics will be cleaner, more detailed, and just overall better.

Once again, we have some fanservice in the comic, but I thought it was appropriate for adequately parodying the Dead or Alive franchise.
