Congrasts Mrs. Lovett!
[Aaron] - August 24, 2009

Just wanted to get on and sing Leah's praises! She did such an amazing job at her audition, and consequently won the starring role at a local theater's performance of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, playing Mrs. Lovett. She went in to try out for a few different roles, and she didn't even seem to think she could get Mrs. Lovett, but the director seemed to think different. =P (and me too)

Anyway, she's excited, giddy, nervous, and a mix of other emotions, but she'll do great in the role. It's been awhile since she tried to audition for anything, so it's wonderful to see her getting into. It's such a great role for her, getting to play such a crazy person. XD She loves it. It's such a complicated role with such complicated songs, (especially when it comes to not having a chance to breathe) but it'll just be that more impressive.

Lack of Speaking
[Aaron] - August 17, 2009

Sorry about not speaking up much. I haven't really had just a lot going on. Just ordinary stuff, minus a while back we got to head out to the lake for some boating with Rocky and Jade. Well, conventions are over, the in and out of the Summer is coming to an end.

As for now, we're working on some everyday stuff, cleaning up our house and reorganizing. It's something we've been trying to do for a LONG time. Bought a new mower, so we finally mowed our overgrown lawn.

Mostly, I'm trying to get everything caught up, as I'm about to start what will be (barring any unexpected problems) my final semester of graduate school. So, this semester I have to write my thesis and work on my final project. It'll be another busy semester I guess, but I guess that's to be expected. But...I'm almost done, and that's something. =D

Home Sweet Home
[Aaron] - July 13, 2009

Home never felt so wonderful. You never realize how good it can feel to just be home, until you spend over a month and a half on the road more or less. Especially the last two weeks, going between conventions...just wow. I've driven so much, even I'm ready for a break, and I LOVE DRIVING! XD

Cons were fun. We learned a lot on this trip, but as per con reports, I'd say we learned how little Anime Expo really caters to there artists. It's mostly about the dealers, and not surprisingly as the dealers are big name companies like Funimation instead of just random import dealers. We couldn't display much info about the comic, due to our choice of setup and inavailability of power, but it was fine. We just focused on art. Tokyo in Tulsa was quaint fun, and we made friends with a lot of artists, but attendance was DEAD. The economy really hurts the small cons. Almost all the artists and dealers were struggeling to break even on the costs with way over 50% of the people who actually came not having any money to spend on anything. Oh well, such is the way of the market.

Now is the time to jump back into things, and first thing is the comic. We just got in a almost 7am this morning, and we just got up...It's like 2:00 in the afternoon. (Does that count as sleeping in?) Anyway, I'll update from the news box/twitter feed with status.
